Job Description
Position:
Works with associations, churches and other ministry points in east Tennessee to develop ARM strategy.
This is a parttime position (20 hrs. per week.)
The ARM Coordinator position, paired with a parttime ministry position (20 hrs. per week) on staff of a local Association, is a fulltime appointed missionary position according to the North American Mission Board (NAMB.)
Relationships:
Works out of an east TN associational office. This association office and the TN Baptist Convention (TBC) are in a partnership regarding the ARM Coordinator position. At this time the association is the Chilhowee Baptist Association, based in Alcoa, TN.
Immediate supervisor is the Director of Missions of the partnership association.
TBC supervisor is the Community Ministries Specialist in the Church Health section.
NAMB contact person is the Church/Community Ministries director in the Servanthood Evangelism section.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting all east TN associations in developing a local and regional missions strategy.
Promoting Appalachian Regional Ministry.
Developing volunteer network.
Identifying ministry projects and connecting volunteers with ministry opportunities.
Networking with local, state, and national ministry entities i.e. Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU), NAMB, and the national ARM Coordinator.

Chilhowee Association
Missions and Ministry Coordinator
General Description:
The Missions Ministry Coordinator shall be responsible for the development, coordination, and promotion of mission and ministry opportunities in the Chilhowee Baptist Ministry Field and other areas in cooperation with other Southern Baptist and like faith groups.
Specific Duties:
$ Works in cooperation with the Director of Missions, On Mission Team and/or other appropriate committee(s) for the enhancement of missions and ministry work in the Association.
$ Coordinates and Supervises the Chilhowee Area Ministries (CHARM)
$ Develop and promote strategies for missions and ministry involvement for all age groups.
$ Assist the Director of Missions in making visits to churches of the Association.
$ Plan and coordinate mission trips and projects for various age groups.
$ Assist in leadership development events.
$ Staff liaison with the Baptist Center.
$ Work in Cooperation with Blount County World Changers in the continued development of community assistance programs.
Position Information:
$ This position will be a full time position in cooperation and partnership with the Tennessee Baptist Convention (approx. 20hrs Assoc. work & 20hrs ARM)
$ The employee shall fulfill the job description requirements of the Appalachian Regional Ministry Regional Coordinator assigned by the Tennessee Baptist Convention.
$ The Director of Missions will be considered the immediate supervisor with the Ministry Specialist in Church/Community Ministries being the TBC supervisor.
