Crossing Over is a Bible based counseling ministry helping people find God's path for their lives. Crossing Over was formed in 1995.
What we are today is a result of all our yesterdays. What has gone in in our lives before has brought us to where we are today. I am thankful for the promise in the Word of God that tells us that even though my life up to this point has been hard, that my future can be changed in and through the Lord Jesus Christ. We can make new decisions to take a different path for our lives, but that different path begins today with those new decisions.
If your life has been hurt by past abuse, by current crisis, by bad decisions or by things you had no say in-now choose to do things differently, choose to do it God's way.
This is why Crossing Over is here, to help you with making new decisions. Tomorrow's journey begins with today's decisions!
If you are tired of doing it your way with the same old results, then allow the Lord to give you a life full of His peace and healing. He leaves the decision up to you, but stands ready to bless and heal if you allow Him.

COUNSELING INFORMATION
Crossing Over has several different areas for counseling. Below are a few of the areas Dr. Abernathy deals with.
Depression: All of us at some point deal with depression. When is depression too much? If you have trouble making simple decisions, or have emotional reactions to things you shouldn't, and life in general is simply not good, maybe it is time to check this out and see if the depression is above the norm. Depression can be controlled, and in some cases even cured. However, it is not an overnight deal, but one has to commit to this process for several weeks in order to deal with the physiological and spiritual aspects of depression.
Marriage: As you are planning a life together, know that Satan has plans for your marriage also, and that is to destroy your marriage. Satan is good at what he does, and only in Christ can a marraige be all that it should be. Dr. Abernathy is committed to a biblical process to help you do marriage God's way, and till death do you part. Before you throw years of marriage away, give God four to six weeks with an open heart.
Addictions: Satan is a master at getting us addicted to the things of this world, and to the substances of this world. He loves to see us destroy ourselves by degrees. If you would like to find a biblical path out of this destruction, know that Crossing Over is here to help you find victory one day at a time in the Lord.
Pre-marital: It is interesting that we will spend months, sometimes even years planning a wedding, but not think past the wedding vows even five minutes! If you are planning to spend several decades together in this beautiful bond called marriage, be sure to prepare for this and do it right. God has a plan, and it is far better than yours!
Children and Youth: Even at a very early age Satan will attack our children. Sometimes if there is a history of depression in a family it can be passed on from one generation to the next. Depression in early years is hard to detect, but undue anger, withdrawal from everyone, and unusal fear can be indications of inner pain in a child's life. This is a tender age and must be dealt with tenderly in order for this child not to carry it with him the rest of his life.
